Invoke Capital, the technology investment fund dedicated to unlocking the potential of European technology, announces that two of its portfolio companies have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s most prestigious business accolade.
World leading AI company for cyber defence, Darktrace, is among a select number of businesses recognised in the ‘International Trade’ category, due to its outstanding growth in overseas sales. The Queen’s Award is the second one for the fast-growing company, which was recognised for its innovative machine learning technology in 2016. Simultaneously, world leader in adaptive behavioural analytics, Featurespace, received the Queen’s Award for Innovation, having shown substantial commercial success as a result of its sophisticated AI software. Both companies will attend a Royal reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by Her Majesty The Queen this summer.
Established in 1965, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise celebrate organisations who are outstanding in their field, recognising their contribution to international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.
“We are honoured to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, especially for International Trade,” said Poppy Gustafsson, CEO EMEA, Darktrace. “This accolade is a testament to the international demand for Darktrace’s AI, developed by world-leading machine learning specialists in Cambridge. We are still growing rapidly, expanding into Latin America and new parts of Asia Pacific in 2018. As the cyber-threat landscape continues to evolve in unpredictable ways, thousands of organisations are turning to artificial intelligence to empower their security teams, and autonomously defend their networks.”
Martina King, Featurespace CEO, commented: “Our mission to protect customers the world over drives innovation at Featurespace. We are immensely proud of this recognition of the impact that our real-time fraud prevention technology is making to real people.”
“This award recognises the passion of our employees and clients to defend customers. We are truly honoured to continue the inspirational legacy of our co-founder, Professor Bill Fitzgerald.”
